Pumpkin seeds, effective antiparasitic

The pumpkin is native to Asia. From there it went to Spain, and with the conquest of America it spread to the rest of the world. Its high content of carotenes and alpha carotenes, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium in addition to vitamins A and C, and antioxidants have made it a favored food for healthy diets and for weight loss.
But today I am interested in talking not about its mass, more or less yellow or dense, but about its seeds, which we usually discard without knowing that they are one of the most effective antiparasitics existing in nature and that they have remarkable nutritional properties due to their contribution in vitamin A, linoleic acid, iron and zinc.

These nutrients coexist with cucurbitin, an alkaloid-type active principle with vermifuge properties that paralyzes intestinal parasites —such as tapeworms and roundworms— and once immobilized, they detach from the intestinal wall and it is then that it is easy to expel them by taking a laxative.

The seeds, or pipes, of the pumpkin can be eaten raw, roasted, or cooked and pureed.

Here is the recipe for pumpkin seed puree that has the aforementioned antiparasitic and laxative properties.

Pumpkin Seed Puree

  • Take a pumpkin and cut it in half. With a spoon, remove the seeds and the tissue in which they hide. Place everything in a pressure cooker with very little water and two tablespoons of sugar. Cook for about 10 minutes and when it has cooled down, blend the seeds until they are a puree. If necessary, you can use the same water in which you cooked them. If you find it more palatable, you can add a few drops of vanilla to flavor it.
  • Bottle this puree in an absolutely clean glass jar and consume two to three tablespoons on an empty stomach for as long as necessary. If the parasitosis is severe you can consume it up to three times a day but always away, at least two hours, from the usual meals.
  • This remedy is very effective for all ages, including children over one year of age and the elderly.
